Prayer

Prayer shared by Elaine Harden

Lord, I thank you for your present of today…for the body you gave me temporary use of, for the family you let me borrow, for the job u let me have, for your Son whom you shared, for the friends you gave on loan, for the grace which is not my own…I can’t give you enough thanks for all that you have given but I want to start paying on my account right now by saying Thank You Lord!

In Jesus precious name, Amen.

Lifeline

He awakened me this morning
Challenges and obstacles abound
My mind perplexed by the things so vexed
I listened but there was no sound

Onward with my battles
My strategies were few
Contemplating, meditating
Still no sound came from you.

Reaching for the wisdom
My brains just spinning around
No plan, no solution, no remedy
Just praying to hear the sound

Error upon error
So many tasks incomplete
Desperately using everything
Not wanting to accept defeat

Kept reaching within for my strength
Scheming to outrun my fate
But the world was closing in on me
It seemed that it was just too late

In my confusion and my remembrance
My void of speaking to God in a long time
So in my desperation calling out to him
To help me resurrect my peace of mind

As prayer flowed from my bosom
The enemy fueled the struggles in my mind
My teary eyes raised from up from the ground
Then somewhere in my tortured soul
There began a rumbling sound

And as his word fell upon me
My sorrows began to drown
It was the genesis of my deliverance
From the unsavory things he found

My praise and my prayer thanked him
That his grace turned me around
That within me begins a healing
A new victory was on its way down

What is it about the grace of God?
Never too late and always on time
For forgiveness and redemption was his gift to me
Because I remembered prayer was my lifeline.

Go deeper!

A Bondservant of Christ, Rev Toni-Brooke Brown, Pastor
God’s Storehouse

Go deeper….Trust the Lord…If what you have been doing lately, has not been working, perhaps the Lord is giving you new instructions. We can not always do things, the same way….We cannot give up. Go deeper…stretch forth…go beyond the normal. God teaches us to go out in faith and trust Him. He is the One who brings increase…He is the One who gives promotions….He is the One who supplies needs….He is the One!!!!!

Sometimes, what we’ve always done, dries up, and it is not producing the way it should. Sometimes we have to go out further and allow God to do a new thing. It is time to come out of our shell…It is time to breakthrough the tradition…breakthrough the common and popular…Go deeper in the Lord!

The deeper you go in the Lord, the more specific instructions you will receive from Him. When the Lord gives specific instructions, we must not compromise. Some of the instructions seem outrageous, (for instance…telling Noah to build an ark, for rain that they had never seen…Telling Moses( one man) to free the Israelites from the Egyptians….Telling Abram to get up and leave his country, to go to a place, that the Lord would show him later. (Just go!)… Telling the disciples to feed the five thousand, with five loaves and two small fishes. )

We can go deeper every day, in Jesus. Listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit…Let the Lord take you deeper in your walk…deeper in your faith…deeper in your promise..GO DEEPER!!!
Traditions do not save us or bring us victory…Following the old way of doing things, does not bring us victory…It allows us to become comfortable…to become stagnant. When we are stuck in the comfort zone, the Lord can not do a new thing in you, or for you, because you are stuck and you will not go deeper!!! Don’t you want your net full of promises, provisions, blessings and breakthroughs? Go deeper and cast out your net…Reach out!!!!…Follow the instructions of the Lord and watch miracles begin to happen for you and for those around you!!! Everyone used by God, in the Bible, was a risk taker and a faith walker….Everyone God used to do great things, was an extremist. Look at Jesus, your Lord and Savior!!!

1) Don’t give up…Get ready to go deeper (And nothing shall be able to stop you, or shake you)
“He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock; and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemetly upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock” St. Luke 6:48

2) Cast out thy net and do a new thing!!!
“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing;now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:18-19

“Now when He had left speaking, he said unto Simon, ‘Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.’ And Simon answering, said unto Him, Master, we have toiled all night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.” Luke 5:4-6

The Lord wants us to know…..’Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men……Let go of the familiar and popular, and then I can take you into the deeper waters. Do not get alarmed by the winds around you, just keep your eyes on Me. Watch and see the great things ahead.

Love somebody today who doesn’t love you; doesn’t care about you; won’t repay you, can’t repay you and doesn’t want to repay you…then you will be treating them the way God treated you.

"It’s ok to Quit….."

1.

2. Quit telling people your secrets when you know they are not going to keep them! And if you keep telling them, then quit getting mad when they tell your secrets!

3. Quit trying to pull people on your journey who don’t want to travel with you. Either they believe in you and value you…or they don’t!

4. Quit complaining about things you can’t and won’t change!

5. Quit gossiping about other people! Minding our own business should be a full time job!

6. Quit blaming each other for things that in the big picture aren’t going to matter three weeks from now! Talk solutions…and then implement them!

7. Quit eating things you know are not good for you! If you can’t quit…eat smaller portions!

8. Quit buying things when we know we can’t afford them! If you don’t have self control, then quit going to the stores! Quit charging things, especially when you don’t NEED them!

9. Quit staying in unhealthy relationships! It is not okay for people to verbally or physically abuse you! So quit lying to yourself! It is not okay to stay in the marriage for the children! Ask them and they will tell you that they really would prefer to see you happy and that the misery you and your spouse/partner are living with is affecting them!

10. Quit letting family members rope you into the drama! -Start telling them you don’t want to hear it! Quit spreading the drama! Quit calling other relatives and telling them about your cousin or aunt! Go back to #5 minding your own business should be enough to keep you busy!

11. Quit trying to change people! IT DOESN’T WORK! Quit cussing people out when you know that they are just being the miserable and jealous people that they are!

12. Quit the job you hate! Start pursuing your passion. Find the job that fuels your passion BEFORE you quit!

13. Quit volunteering for things that you aren’t getting any personal fulfillment from anymore! Quit volunteering for things and then failing to follow through with your commitment!

14. Quit listening to the naysayers! Quit watching the depressing news if you are going to live in the doom and gloom of it all!

15. Quit making excuses about why you are where you are or why you can’t do what you want to do!

16. Quit waiting on others to give you the answers…and start finding the answers for yourself! If what you are doing isn’t working for you…then quit it!

17. Quit settling and start making your dreams a reality!- Quit being afraid and START LIVING YOUR LIFE! CREATE THE LIFE YOU WANT! If you want something different than what you have had in the past…you must quit doing what you have done before and DO something different! JUST QUIT IT …… and START DOING something to create the experience you want!

Keeping Yourself Holy and Pure

Written by Bishop Keith Butler

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
(1 Corinthians 6:17-18, KJV)

There are many traps set for the single individual who is living holy. The Bible tells you what to do in a dating relationship that begins to develop into ungodly behavior. 1 Cor. 6:17 says to flee fornication. What does “flee” mean? Flee doesn’t mean, “I can deal with it.” Flee means get on your running shoes and run. In other words, when you come into a scenario and sense that there is ungodly potential there, don’t hang around. Get out of Dodge. That is how you keep yourself holy.

Prayer is essential for the single individual. You have to be prayed up so that you can see trouble coming, and so that you will have strength to flee. Proverbs 6:27 says, “Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?” Flee that situation.

This is one reason why a born again brother may end a relationship with a born again sister. Men know that they cannot deal with holding on to a woman and stay holy. So, if he dates a single woman a couple of times, and she jumps all on him, he is going to cut it short. He is trying to be saved. If this woman keeps on messing with him he knows he is going to get in trouble. So he decides he cannot see her anymore, and ends it.

That goes the other way too. Here is a single woman living holy before God. She is dating this guy. They have only been out once or twice, and he has his paws all over her. Here is what to do with him: “Sorry Charlie.” I’m looking for a holy man. She will not deal with him any further. She is looking for somebody who can exhibit control.

Holiness is self-control. The way to get a godly mate is to exhibit self-control in your life. Nothing is worth losing your testimony over. So, stay in prayer and in the Word. It is there that you will be strengthened to keep yourself holy and pure, and to live a life pleasing to God.

END OF THE WORLD 2012!

How Seriously should you take the talk about “doomsday”, the end of world 2012?

To be more precise, December 21 2012 has been suggested as the end of the world, earth as we know it. Some say that on an ancient Mayan calendar 2012 points to the end of the world. Others say that for Nostradamus 2012 is also a possible doomsday.

There is in fact more than one end of the world 2012 prediction for a 2012 earth “use by date”. It has got to the point where the thought of a December 21 2012 dooms day is freaking some people out. Should you be freaked? We don’t think so. For starters, given past doomsday predictions and prophecies about the end of the world, earth should have ended by now! Since the earth is still here, it would be fair to say then that, to date, all prophecies and predictions about the end of the world (before 2012) have failed!

WORD of CAUTION: Just because the earth has survived various doomsday predictions so far, doesn’t guarantee it will still be here in the year 2012, or tomorrow for that matter? For tomorrow is not promised to anyone.
“It is appointed unto man once to die and then the judgement” (Hebrews 9:27). What if this was true? Would you gamble with your soul that these prophecies are not true? Consider the eternal consequences of being wrong. Imagine standing (if you were able to stand) before the creator of the universe, knowing that he is about to judge you.

What is more fearful than 2012 doomsday predictions?

Answer: Standing before God, without your sins forgiven.
“It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Hebrews 10:31)

Answer: Being judged and found guilty by God.
“I say to you, My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that have no more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear the One who, after He has killed, has authority to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear Him!” (Luke12:4-5)

You are probably thinking, “I thought God was a God of love!” That’s true, but he is also a God of justice and he has set aside a day of justice where the wicked will come before him
“Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:” (Matthew 25:41)

Prayer

Prayer shared by Derrick Rosborough

LORD, when I feel like I am in a boat in the middle of the lake and You are not there, help me not panic. You promised never to leave me, and You are always aware of my circumstances whether I feel like it or not. So, help me trust that You know where I am and will come to me, even if You have to walk on water to do it! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

(Mark 6:45-47, NLT) Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and head across the lake to Bethsaida, while he sent the people home. After telling everyone good-bye, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Late that night, the disciples were in their boat in the middle of the lake, and Jesus was alone on land.

It’s your life!

Aren’t you glad that you can do as you please; make plans as you feel; go where you want and say what’s on you mind? After all, it’s your life! No one should be able to tell you what to do. It’s your life and you have to live it. As long as you are not asking anyone for anything; as long as you aren’t bothering anyone else… it is your life, and you can do as you please.

As long as you are minding your business and taking care of your own affairs; dealing with your own issues, why wouldn’t you live your life as you choose? It’s your life!

Because, “Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” (Psalm 100:3 NKJV)
The Bible says that God made us; we did not make ourselves. We belong to Him; we are His sheep, and that makes Him our Shepherd. We are to do what He says to do….after all He brought us into this world and He can take us out!

God created you special; for a special purpose and with a special plan. When we decide to do our own thing, we miss our real purpose for being here. When we decide to live our lives our own way, we are deciding to live separate from God. If we live separate from God, then we are unsaved and much like Adam and Eve. They had a choice to do what God said; being spiritually alive and blessed; or they could do their own thing and live apart from God, spiritually dead. They chose to be independent of God and they ruined everything.

What about you? Have you realized that your life is not yours to mess up? Your life is His and He has great things planned for you, if you want it. Do you trust your Creator with your life? Do you believe that He knows what’s best for you? Do you believe that He has your best interest at heart? Do you know that He can do more with you than you can do with yourself? Do you want the assurance that when things look dim, that God will pull you out? Then you have do give your life to Him totally…that’s what salvation is all about.

This is your life….But your life belongs to Him. Give it up, so you can get what He has for you.
“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (I Corinthians 6:19-20)

Love somebody today who doesn’t love you; doesn’t care about you; won’t repay you, can’t repay you and doesn’t want to repay you…then you will be treating them the way God treated you…
